Dear Member:
UFCW/RWDSU Local No. 220 workers in Williamson, New York have been forced out on strike by the greed of their employer, Mott’s. The more than 300 members work in a very profitable plant for Mott’s, owned by the Dr Pepper Snapple Group. In recent contract negotiations the company attempted to slash wages by $1.50/hour, reduce retirement contributions, and undercut a long-time experienced workforce. Meanwhile, the CEO’s pay has doubled in the last 6 years and the company continues to post record profits.
Please support fellow UFCW members by boycotting these Mott’s products:
Mott’s Apple Sauce
Hawaiian Punch
Margaritaville Margarita Mix
Mr. & Mrs. T Drink Mixes
Welch’s Grape Juice (64ox.)
Rose’s Lime Juice
Snapple cans
Mott’s Fruitsations
Mott’s Garden Cocktail
ReaLime Juice
ReaLemon Juice
Holland House Cooking Wines
Clamato

Yakima area Union Representative
Steve Crabb
Steve Crabb-I am thrilled to be the new Business Representative for the Yakima and Eastern Oregon area. It’s very exciting to be part of a great team of people who are working hard for its members.
I would like to tell you a little about myself, what I’ve done and where I have come from. I grew up in Southwest Washington in Pomeroy, on a wheat farm, on the breaks of the Snake River. I worked in the local grocery store as a box boy in the winter and on the farm in the summer. I went to college at Spokane Community College in 1972 (seems like a long time ago). I also played as a professional musician for several years (musicians union). Started cutting meat for the store in Pomeroy for three years, then moved to Clarkston Washington, where I worked in a custom cutting and retail meat shop in Clarkston Heights.
I moved to Spokane and went to work for Albertsons as a journeyman meat cutter at the Sprague and Pines store where I managed my own shop for four years. I have been a second man for the company for twenty years. (Twenty eight years total)
I have been very involved with Local 1439 over the years. Worked as a shop steward for twelve years and attended the Washington State Labor Council convention. I have also served on the Executive Board of our local for eight years. I have worked on six contract negotiation committees and helped organized our motorcycle ride to raise money for our membership assistance program. I try to be involved as much as I can be.
Larry Hall is my boss but the people I work for are YOU. I will do my very best for the members in my area. As I get to know the members I hope to build and earn your trust as we grow to be a stronger Union. United we stand.
