FYI – The Sound Retirement Trust has sent out the updated Annual Benefit Statements for the Plan Year ending 9/30/15. All statements were mailed by January 29, 2016. ABS’s will be mailed to all Vested and Non-Vested participants with 435 hours or more in the 10/1/14 - 9/30/2015 Plan Year. If you feel you should’ve received an ABS, you should call the pension plan to verify your address and the proper reporting of your hours. Members do need to call the Sound Retirement Trust with questions. If the question pertains to missing hours, usually the Trust will refer the member back to UFCW Local 1439 to investigate. You can reach the Sound Retirement Trust at 1-800-225-7620.
Please review your statement carefully, especially the “Current Plan Year” info. I would encourage all participants to use the website for the Sound Retirement Trust – soundretirementtrust.com – to view the details of your personal pension account and to update personal account information. This website is actually the most current information a member can get, as it is updated monthly. The website will reflect the hours that have been contributed in past Plan Years, the hours that are contributed every month for the current Plan Year, and a current “maximum monthly benefit” amount.
